A Statistics New Zealand survey of 15,000 households across the country showed that:
* 80 percent use the Internet
* 72 percent send and receive email
* 43 percent purchase stuff online
* 37 percent frequent social networking websites
In addition, an estimated 97% of (global) Internet users first research a product or service online before they approach a merchant to buy.
If you sell a product or service to New Zealand customers or clients, how do you get all these Internet users to find your stuff?
Just make sure that you:
- show up first in google (the most popular website in New Zealand) for a search on your product or service
- establish and maintain a comprehensive presence on social media properties that provide articles, blogs, video-sharing, podcasting, image-sharing, document-sharing, social networking and social bookmarking services
- utilise a system to attract and capture all these Internet-generated leads and prospects from online searches for your product or service
- use a call to action in all of your online promotional material
